They say behind every successful man stands a woman. But for a man like me—walking the thorny, unpredictable paths of public advocacy, media publishing, and societal commentary—the woman standing behind me is not just a figure in the background. She is the fortress, the anchor, and the very wind beneath my wings.

Today, my soulmate, my companion, and my greatest blessing on earth turns 40. 

Happy milestone birthday to you, Modupe, my dearest Iyadunni. 

The Many Hats of Grace

To the world, she is a graceful woman of virtue. But to me, she wears a crown woven from multiple roles that no title can ever fully capture:

My Wife: The keeper of my heart, the peace in my home, and the gentle warmth that welcomes me after a long, exhausting day of battles.

My Sister and Gist Partner: The one with whom I share my deepest laughter, my silliest thoughts, and my most unfiltered moments. With her, comfort is a permanent address.

My Mother: Yes, a mother. For in moments when the world tries to break my resolve, her tender care and maternal instincts wrap around me, shielding me from the harsh elements of life.

My Chief Adviser: The quiet genius behind the scenes. Long before an article is published or a public stance is taken, her sharp intellect, wise counsel, and balanced perspective help shape my thoughts. She is the sounding board of Ayekooto Media.

Through Thick, Thin, and the Valley of Storms

Life has not always been a bed of roses. We have walked through paths paved with thorns, navigated the valleys of uncertainty, and faced seasons where the storms of life tried fiercely to test the foundation of our union. 

Yet, through every single trial, Modupe never flinched. 

When my courage failed and my spirit grew weary, she was the one who plucked up my heart, reminding me of who I am. When the world threw doubts, she became my fortress. And above all, she is my unfailing prayer warrior—a woman who stands in the midnight hours, calling upon the Almighty on my behalf, fighting spiritual battles I know nothing about. She carries my burdens as though they were her own. 

A Toast at 40

My darling Modupe, as you step into this glorious fourth decade of your life, I want the world to know that whatever legacy Ayekooto or David Alani Ige builds, your fingerprints are all over it. Your patience, your loyalty, your selflessness, and your unconditional love are the true trophies of my life. 

Thank you for staying when staying was difficult. Thank you for believing in a dream when the road was dark. Thank you for loving me with a love so pure, so deep, and so divine.

May Almighty God crown your new age with heaven's choicest blessings. May He replenish your soul, grant you sound health, endless joy, and long life to reap the bountiful fruits of your labour and prayers.
