THE OPPRESSOR AND THE OPPRESSED: Why 2027 is Okè-Ògùn’s Date with Destiny

For the political relationship between Ibadan and Okè-Ògùn, that time is now.  For decades, the dynamic in Oyo State politics has been a classic, tragic tale of the oppressor and the oppressed. Year after year, election after election, Okè-Ògùn has diligently played its role. We have been the faithful kingmakers, delivering our massive voting blocs, offering our agricultural wealth, and maintaining absolute loyalty to the collective progress of Oyo State.  Yet, what has been our reward? Continual marginalization.  While we build the ladder for others to climb to power, we are left at the bottom, starved of meaningful infrastructure, denied critical developmental projects, and treated as second-class citizens in a state we co-own.
