TRANSITION OF A TITAN: Igboho Mourns as High Chief Wahab Olayiwola Adeladan, the Iba Bonni, Joins His Ancestors

A dark cloud of mourning has descended upon the ancient and historically rich town of Igboho following the transition of a towering pillar of its traditional institution. High Chief Wahab Olayiwola Adeladan, the highly revered Iba Bonni of Igboho, has officially bid the world goodbye. 


Palace sources and family representatives confirmed that the respected traditional leader joined his ancestors after a brief illness, marking the end of a deeply impactful era in the traditional governance of the community.


A Void in the Traditional Council

The traditional architecture of Igboho is rooted in deep centuries of Oyo Empire history, and the Iba Bonni holds a prominent and sacred seat within this hierarchy. As a vital member of the traditional council. The transition of High Chief Adeladan leaves a massive leadership void that will be felt across the entire Oke-Ogun region.


Throughout his lifetime, High Chief Adeladan was known as a custodian of peace, a defender of Igboho’s cultural heritage, and a unifying figure among the various quarters of the ancient town. His tenure was marked by a calm demeanor, immense traditional wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of the sons and daughters of Igboho both at home and in the diaspora. 


A Community in Mourning

As the news of his passing filters through the quarters of Obaago, Modeke, Jakuta, and beyond, traditional rites of passage are expected to commence in accordance with the customs of the land. 


The exit of High Chief Wahab Olayiwola Adeladan is not just a loss to his immediate family but a monumental loss to the entire traditional institution of Oorelope Local Government. He will be remembered for his unvarnished truth, his love for his people, and his dedication to the ancient throne. 


May the soul of the departed High Chief find eternal rest, and may the Almighty grant the Adeladan family. Bonni and the entire Igboho kingdom the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
