There are men who merely pass through life, and there are men whose lives become a compass for others to follow. Today, we roll out the drums to celebrate a man who seamlessly embodies the rare combination of intellectual brilliance, deep-rooted piety, and an unwavering commitment to public service: Hon. Moses Adebayo Alao, the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Print Media.
A proud and illustrious son of the soil from Ile Onilu, Obaago, Igboho, Moses Alao’s story is a masterclass in resilience, faith, and purposeful ambition.
The Early Years of a Prodigy
Those who have known Hon. Moses from his early days can easily attest to one undeniable fact: he was destined for greatness. As a young, brilliant chap, his intellect was always a point of reference. I vividly recall the golden era of the late Governor Lam Adesina, where a young Moses, alongside his bosom friend, Isola Samson, proudly and brilliantly represented Oorelope Local Government. They were not just youths; they were the intellectual pride of our community, standing tall and proving that the ancient city of Igboho produces minds capable of engaging at the highest levels.
His academic trajectory reflects a man on a continuous quest for knowledge. From the humble but solid foundations of Irepo Grammar School and later to Igboho More Grammar School, he marched triumphantly into the prestigious University of Ibadan, where he continued to hone his skills and expand his worldview.
A Man Anchored in Faith
Beyond his intellectual prowess, what truly sets Hon. Moses apart is his unshakeable relationship with God. He is known far and wide for his piousness. As an ardent Royal Ambassador and a fervent, dedicated member of the Baptist Student Fellowship (BSF), he has lived a life guided by the strict moral compass of his faith. He is a man who understands that all power, wisdom, and elevation come solely from the Almighty. This spiritual grounding has kept him humble, approachable, and deeply empathetic to the plight of the common man.
From the Newsroom to the Government House
In the professional realm, Moses Alao is a titan. He cut his teeth in the demanding and rigorous world of journalism at the 'Nigerian Tribune', Nigeria’s oldest surviving private newspaper. At the 'Tribune', his pen was a sword for truth, equity, and good governance. His journalistic integrity, sharp analytical mind, and excellent grasp of political communication eventually caught the eye of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who rightly appointed him as his Special Assistant on Print Media. In this role, he has served with absolute loyalty, dedication, and a touch of professional excellence that makes Oorelope proud.
The Next Frontier
As we celebrate this jolly good brother today, our eyes are also fixed on the horizon of the future. God willing, Hon. Moses Alao is stepping forward as the APM Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government elections. If there was ever a man prepared by God, shaped by experience, and fueled by a genuine love for his people to lead at the grassroots, it is him.
A Toast to a Jolly Good Brother
Hon. Moses, as you add another glorious year to your age today, my prayer for you is simple but profound. May the Almighty God, whom you have served so fervently from your youth, continue to light your path. May your pen never run dry, may your political steps be ordered by grace, and may you continue to be a source of immense pride to Ile Onilu, to Igboho, and to Oyo State at large.
Happy Birthday to a brilliant journalist, a devout believer, a loyal brother, and a true leader!
