FUNATO First Semester Examination is Here

The first semester examination at FUNATO is a great moment in our history. It is the first examination since the University was established on 22 May 2025. This makes the exercise special and memorable for every student, staff member, parent, and stakeholder across Nigeria.

I encourage all students to give their very best so they can come out with flying colors. This is the time for discipline, dedication, determination, and the decision to succeed. Those who settle for ordinary results may miss the chance for excellent results. Therefore, buckle up, stay focused, and prepare well for every paper. Eat good food, sleep well, rest enough, and enter the examination hall with a positive and confident mind.

Parents should encourage their wards to aim for excellence. Please avoid frequent phone calls or unnecessary visits that may distract students during this important period.

I also call on all staff to be punctual, responsible, and available for proper supervision and support throughout the examination.

Our security agencies must remain more watchful than ever. Let everyone stay alert, stand firm, and work together to ensure a peaceful, fair, and successful examination.

I wish every student success and God's guidance throughout.

Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi

Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Okeho (FUNATO)

IBADAN, OYO STATE — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally entered another crucial phase of the 2027 electoral process with the publication and display of the names, credentials and other particulars of candidates contesting the governorship and State House of Assembly elections. The exercise, carried out on Saturday, August 29, 2026, included the display of candidates’ particulars on Form EC9, giving political parties, candidates, journalists and members of the public an opportunity to scrutinise the information submitted to the electoral commission. For Oyo State, the development is particularly significant. Reports based on the latest INEC display indicate that 16 candidates are in the 2027 governorship race, representing different political parties. But there is an important lesson for voters: a name announced by a political party is not automatically the same thing as the name finally displayed by INEC. That distinction has become critical in...

By

At the jamb Headquarters,  This morning In the corridors of power, public perception is often a carefully crafted illusion. To the outside world, a public institution can be painted as a shining beacon of reform, financial accountability, and administrative brilliance. But to the civil servants who turn the administrative wheels—those who endure the daily realities behind closed doors—the story can be vastly, painfully different. As a new leadership officially resumed duty at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) headquarters today, a striking visual spectacle unfolded, captured in numerous video and audio recordings. Staff members across various offices abandoned official norms and clad themselves in stark white attire—a traditional African symbol of victory, liberation, and joy following the end of an era. To the casual observer, it was a routine celebration. But to the affected staff and aggrieved former employees, it was an emotional outburst f...
