This birthed a toxic operational culture. Seasoned career directors were sidelined into administrative puppets, while core duties were stripped from dedicated staff and handed over to a "contractor cartel." 

Today, the heavy gavel used to shatter the livelihoods of dedicated officers has slipped. In its place, Prof. Aina has extended a hand of genuine partnership, promising a complete structural and emotional overhaul of the institution.

Speaking directly to the nation, Prof. Aina broke down his administrative blueprint into clear, uncompromising directives:

1. Empathy Over Trauma for the Nigerian Child

Recognizing that the UTME registration process has historically been a source of extreme stress for families, the new Registrar declared an end to administrative cruelty. 

"Every year, millions of young Nigerians approach JAMB with excitement, hope, and, quite often, anxiety... An institution entrusted with dreams must never become the source of unnecessary trauma."

He mandated a new philosophy for every JAMB staff member: every interaction must leave a customer feeling more informed, more respected, and less anxious than when they arrived.

2. Empowering the Sidelined Workforce

In a direct rebuke of the previous administration's reliance on outsourced entities, Prof. Aina restored dignity to the agency's career officers. 

"I have enormous confidence in your ability. I know the sacrifices many of you make, often away from public attention. You deserve leadership that listens... Leadership that creates an environment where innovation is encouraged and integrity is rewarded."

He challenged the staff to bring their ideas and dismantle outdated processes, signaling the end of the era where independent thought was treated as defiance.

3. Uncompromising Integrity and a Warning to Fraudsters

While the new administration leads with empathy, it possesses a spine of steel regarding examination malpractice. As a vanguard of Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Aina explicitly warned those who exploit the system—from cybercriminals to compromised CBT centers.

"Your business is with the wrong institution. JAMB will continue to deploy every lawful technological, administrative, and investigative measure available to detect, deter, and prosecute examination malpractice... The future belongs to those who prepare, not those who cheat."

The appointment of Prof. Segun Aina by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a masterstroke in public sector reform. It bridges the gap between digital innovation and institutional governance.
