They say blood is thicker than water—a timeless adage that proves itself true no matter the physical distance or the passage of time. In an era where the hustle and bustle of modern life often disconnects us from our roots, finding a trace of your lineage unexpectedly can trigger a profound emotional awakening. 

Today, while navigating the digital landscape of Facebook, I experienced this exact feeling. I stumbled upon the page of one of my patriarchal kin, Brother Ogundare Toyin, and was immediately struck by a wave of pride, nostalgia, and deep familial connection. The occasion is monumental: BrotherToyin and his beautiful heartthrob are celebrating 25 years of unbroken partnership—a glorious Silver Jubilee of marriage. 

But to truly understand the magnitude of this celebration and the resilience of brother Toyin's spirit, one must flip the pages of history back to the patriarch of this great lineage.

The Great Migration: The Footprints of Late Pa Thomas Ogundare
Brother Toyin is the direct son of the highly revered Late Pa Thomas Ogundare —a man whose life story is a masterclass in vision, assimilation, and leadership. 

The Ogundare ancestry is deeply rooted in the proud and historic 'Ile Alajeebon, Erinjakun in Igboho'. However, as a man of great foresight, Pa Thomas left his ancestral home in Igboho and migrated to the welcoming lands of Ogbooro. 

In Ogbooro, Pa Thomas did not just settle; he conquered. He became a prominent landlord and a pillar of the community. He was so deeply integrated and loved by the people that many never even knew his ancestral roots traced back to Igboho! He married all his wives from Ogbooro and embedded himself in the socio-political fabric of the town. During the Shagari era, his leadership acumen earned him a seat as a Councilor. Beyond politics, he rose to become the esteemed community head of Ogbooro and a devout church leader, guiding his people with wisdom and faith.

A Tale of Two Cities: The Patriarch's Final Bow
The profound connection between his two homelands played out vividly in his final days. When Pa Thomas fell ill, he breathed his last at a hospital in his ancestral hometown of Igboho. Because he was a true son of the soil, the Igboho family strongly protested, desiring to bury their illustrious son in his ancestral home. 

However, his roots in Ogbooro had grown too deep to be uprooted. Ultimately, his corpse was returned to Ogbooro, the land where he reigned, loved, and led, to be laid to rest with full honors. 

From Ogbooro to the Diaspora: A Score and Five Years of Love
Today, the apple has not fallen far from the tree. Just as Pa Thomas left Igboho to build an empire and become a proud landlord in Ogbooro, his direct son, Toyin Ogundare, has mirrored that exact greatness on a global scale. 

Brother Toyin and his beloved wife (Temitope) have transitioned beyond the shores of Nigeria, firmly establishing their roots in the diaspora. They are now proud landlords in another man's land, carrying the undeniable grace, resilience, and hardworking spirit of the Ile Alajeebon Erinjakun ancestry. 

Sustaining a marriage for a score and five years requires an abundance of patience, mutual respect, and intentional partnership. Brother Toyin and his wife have weathered the storms of life together, transitioning from their early days of youthful promises to raising a family and building an enduring trans-generational legacy abroad. 

A Heartfelt Toast to the Family
As I reflect on this beautiful milestone, I cannot help but feel the deep, undeniable pull of that blood connection. Though miles and time zones may separate us, the bond of our shared lineage remains unbreakable. I deem it absolutely fit to use this platform to rejoice with my own.
