Emeritus Prof. Dibu Ojerinde Condoles With Ooni of Ife Over the Demise of His Elder Brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi

Emeritus Professor Dibu Ojerinde, OON, the Aare Fimogboye of the Source, has expressed his profound sorrow and extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, following the tragic loss of his elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi.


In a deeply moving message of solidarity to the Arole Oduduwa and the entire Ogunwusi royal family, the revered academic and traditional titleholder described the passing of Prince Adetunji as a monumental loss, not just to the immediate family, but to the entire ancient city of Ile-Ife. 


A Pillar of the Royal Family

Professor Ojerinde, speaking in his capacity as the Aare Fimogboye of the Source, noted that the bond of brotherhood is one of the most sacred anchors of human existence. He acknowledged the late Prince Adetunji as a prominent figure, a dependable pillar of support to the throne, and a man whose quiet dignity and contributions to the royal family will be sorely missed.


"It is with a heavy heart that I receive the news of the transition of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi. Losing an elder brother is an irreplaceable emotional blow. I share in the grief of His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, during this dark hour," Prof. Ojerinde stated. 


Prayers for the King and the Kingdom

The Aare Fimogboye offered fervent prayers for the paramount ruler, asking the Almighty God (Olodumare) and the ancestors to grant Ooni Ogunwusi the divine strength, grace, and fortitude required to navigate this deeply painful period. 


He further extended his sympathies to the wider Ogunwusi family, the Obalufe, the traditional council, and the good people of Ile-Ife, praying that the soul of the departed Prince finds absolute and eternal rest.


The transition of Prince Adetunji has cast a solemn mood over the House of Oduduwa, drawing sympathies and condolences from dignitaries, traditional rulers, and well-meaning Nigerians across the globe.
