The academic and legal communities are set to gather for a profound intellectual engagement as the prestigious University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) announces its 305th Inaugural Lecture for the 2025/2026 academic session.


Taking the podium for this highly anticipated academic milestone is Professor Mariam Adepeju Abdulraheem-Mustapha, a distinguished legal scholar from the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law at the University of Ilorin. 


Professor Abdulraheem-Mustapha, who boasts a robust academic and legal pedigree—including an LL.B (Combined Hons) from UDUS, Sokoto; an LL.M from OAU, Ile-Ife; a Ph.D. from Ilorin; and a B.L from Lagos—will be exploring a deeply sensitive and socially urgent topic. 


           The Subject Matter

The lecture is compellingly titled: "Children In the Cage, Justice on Trial." Given the title, the lecture is expected to be a brilliant dissection of the juvenile justice system, children's rights, and the legal and societal frameworks that either protect or fail the most vulnerable members of our society. It promises to be an eye-opening session of unvarnished truths regarding how the law intersects with youth welfare.
